I know the secrets of the land and the sky, And you'll hear my voice in the eagle's cry. As they watched the happenings, Merlin smiled and held Freya's hand with his. He knew that Arthur and Gwen could be happy together, it was something they had been working towards for ages, yet it was something that they could never show or Gwen could be acused of sorcerery. Which was something Uther was against and he would murder anyone who practised magic.
As it was announced that magic would be allowed, many people cheered, so it appeared that many did practice magic in secret. Merlin cheered along, aware that this might reveal that he did practice magic to Arthur. But he was now free and no longer had to hide who he was.

After coronation, Merlin and Freya secretly got married. Only Arthur and Gwen were present.
Afterwards, Arthur appointed Merlin and Freya as his court sorcerers.
It seemed, however, that trouble was stirring in Cenred's Kingdom. And Mordred was also acting.
He and Morgana were reunited, and now, that magic was allowed, Mordred and Morgana planned to settle down in Camelot.

With magic back, Merlin no longer needed to hide who he was and it was a lot easier to openly help Arthur. "Freya, do you think that there will ever be peace at Camelot?" Merlin asked one day.

"Peace? There's already peace!" she exclaimed "It had been from the moment that magic was allowed! Cenred can do us no harm. As for Morgana and Mordred, they don't have a reason to attack us now that magic is allowed." she replied

"No, I mean a time when the kingdom doesn't need to be defended, when no one is going to try and dislodge Arthur from his position or kill him. Just becuase he is king, it doesn't mean that he has less enemies. He probably has more. And I can't allow him to fall." Merlin said.
As he said that, he remembered the dragon first telling him that it was his destiny to protect Arthur. Sometimes, he wondered where the dragon was, if it was free, if he would ever return.

"Trust me, he doesn't have that much enemies. No one of magic would attack him now that it's allowed, and as for Cenred, bandits and mercenaries, you and I would fend them off, husband.
She sighed. She was married to man she love, magic was allowed back in Camelot, and Arthur was King.
She had all her dreams come true.
She was more than happy. She was ecstasic.
And her grin showed that clearly.

It had good grounds, and Merlin knew that he and Freya could not fight off a whole army if they decided to take Camelot. "We can not defend Arthur and Camelot if a whole kingdom decides to come and try take these lands. We can only try and help. Protect Arthur." Merlin told Freya softly.

Freya looked through the window. The kingdom had changed for the better since Arthur took the throne. She watched magic being used freely, and she was smiling. It was her dreams come true.
"Aetynan" she whispered, and flames arose from their candles.
She continued down the hall with a grin. She didn't have to hide anymore.
Her dream did indeed come true.

I know the secrets of the land and the sky, And you'll hear my voice in the eagle's cry. Starring out the window, Merlin watched as the life in Camelot went by, as it always did. No matter who was in charge, or the laws, everyone still needed to eat, grow crops, sell their products. That was one thing that would never change and would last until the end of time. It was the base of all life, apart from the selling. Animals all found food to survive.
Just then, Freya whispered an incantation and the flames moved away from their wicks, Merlin smiled at Freya as the flames flickered around in the air. It was one of the more beautiful, gentler sides of magic.

The idea of him becoming a father wasn't something he had ever contemplated, nor was it something that his own father had comtemplated either. If he had a chid, when he died, his powers of a Dragon Lord would be passed down onto the child. "That's brilliant, Freya!" Merlin said edventually. Then, he moved over to Freya, wrapped his arms around her and gave her a soft kiss.

My father was a Dragonlord, and the gift is passed down and when I die, this child will be a Dragonlord." he said softly as he looked at the beautiful woman before him. "My father never even knew he had a son until the last day of his life." Merlin spoke even softer now.
