Dislikes: The Great Dragon speaking in riddles, not being able to use magic, killing, prosecution against people because they are said to have magic, not being recognized for the deeds he does, everyone trying to kill Arthur.
Good/Bad Habits:
- Helping to save Camelot by using his magic for good.
- Lets Morgana and Mordred live because he cannot bare to kill them, even though they have been prophesied to kill Arthur.
- He is not afraid to say what he thinks is right and does challenge Arthur and influence his descisions.
- Although he is very good at mastering magic, he lacks the ability to master other things without magic, such as healing with herbs.
Personality: Merlin enjoys using his magic to help others or to lighten his work load. However, he usually gets in trouble if Gaius catches him or if he used his magic too a stronger degree word can go around that their is a witch or warlock practising magic in Camelot. When Merlin tried to heal Gwen's father he ended up getting her acused of witchery and had to quickly find the source of the disease to save Gwen from being burned. Merlin is also very selfless, as he admitted that he was the one who cured Gwen's father when she was acused of being a witch. Also, when Arthur tried to get the Mortaeus flower Merlin sends a light to guide him and tells him to ignore the flower and just get to freedom.
Merlin often tries to see the good in people, especially people like Morgana. Often, when she turned against Camelot, he tries to avoid harming her and when he nearly killed her by accident he asked for the dragon's help. He also extends this to those with magic, such as the young boy, Mordred, who The great Dragon warned him not to help.
However, despite this, Merlin has been forced to kill to protect those close to him. For instence, he killed Sophia and her father as they were going to use Arthur's soul to get Sophia pass to Avalon. Later, he also kills Nimueh, where he displayed rage and hatred, causing this to be showing one of his more darker sides.

Family: Merlin was born in Ealdor to Hunith and Balinor. He is very close to his mother, who he is willing to sacrifice his life to save hers. Merlin had no memory of his father, as Balinor had to leave Merlin and his mother as Uther was hunting him. It is only later in his life that Merlin finally gets to meet his father. It is during that time that Merlin tries to purswuade Balinor to help save Camelot as The Great Dragon is attacking. When Balinor is killed, Merlin is devistated.
History: Merlin was born in Elader to Hunith and balinor. He grew up without knowing his father. As he grew up, it became evident that Merlin had magic and thus he was sent away to Camelot to help Gaius and to learn. Upon arrival, Merlin sees the exicution of someone acused of sorcery and then preceeds to find Gaius, however, he has to use magic to prevent Gaius dying. However, gaius is confused by this as Merlin used no incatation, but was born with strong magic. During his sleep, Merlin hears the voice of The great Dragon calling him. It also appears that Merlin is very new to the ways of Camelot as he twice mocks Arthur and gets into trouble. However, he later saves the prince after finding out that it is his destiny to protect Arthur.
Due to the fact taht he saved Arthur, Uther rewarded him the position of Arthur's servant. This was not what either of them expected, however, becuase of this action they have grown close. Often, they consider each other to be 'prats' or 'idiots'. On occasions, Arthur has relied on Merlin to lie on his behalf, such as when he believed his was in love with Sophia. Merlin has also been willing to give his life up for Arthur, such as when Arthur gets bitten by the questing beast and the only way to save him is to give a life. However, the life taken is his mother, and merlin tried to go in her place, only Gaius beat him there. merlin used his powers to take Nimeuh's life and restore Gaius' life in her place. He then swore never to go to the dragon or free it.
However, this vow would soon have to be broken as a powerful sorcer came and threaterned Camelot. Merlin mantains concern about Morgana, even though the dragon advises against helping her and he takes her to the druids. However, this was a bad move and she ends up having to come back. Merlin stays loyal to Arthur and tries his best to help the prince. When it was revealed about Arthur's life being brought by magic and ending his mother's life, Arthur tries to kill his father. However, Merlin knows that Arthur will regrete it, so he goes to stop this happening. Merlin later met Freya, a woman who had been cursed and he helped smuggle her away from the bounty hunter and looked after her. However, Freya turned into a winged cat, known as a Bastet, at midnight and killed. Arthru was sent to destroy the danger and he managed to fatally wound her. Merlin tried to help her, but she died and became the Lady of the Lake.
After many threats to Camelot, Merlin finally kept his promise to the dragon and realised it. However the dragon proceeded to attack Camelot in revenge for what Uther had done to him. This caused Merlin and Arthur to go on the search for the last Dragonlord, who just happened to also be Merlin's father. They found him and purswuaded him to help Camelot. However, he was killed and the magic was passed down to Merlin, who then told the dragon to leave Camelot and never return.
