I know the secrets of the land and the sky, And you'll hear my voice in the eagle's cry. Every day was the same. It was always go muck out the horses, Merlin. Or go polish my amour Merlin. Or go save the world Merlin, but make sure no one sees you using your magic. And when all of those things were done, it was go collect herbs, merlin, or go clean out the leech tank. Thankfully, today was not the leech tank, it was just collecting herbs. Of course, that was never an easy buisness because he had to recognise the herbs and know where to cut them from. Whether Gaius just wanted the petal, or if the roots were needed.
Walking through the woods, he paused to examine one of the many plants growing on the floor, after a few seconds studying it, Merlin decided this was not one of the ones that Gaius wanted, so he continued onwards. Finally, near the midday point, Merlin found one of the six plants that he needed to collect. Now he just needed to remember what part of it Gaius needed. After careful consideration, he pulled the whole plant up, just in case.

Post by Lady Sasha Tiberius on Apr 23, 2011 10:37:18 GMT 8
The white wolf -- who had originally been Sasha Tiberius before she'd been cursed -- had finally found a way to control her power to shape-shift. It was not easy to control, but at least it was not impossible for her anymore. Just one kind of big problem. . . whens he transformed, it hurt horribly. It was the worst pain she'd ever known. But putting that aside for a moment, she was now a shapeshifter. With a terrible 'destiny'. This. . . William. . . had told her that she was destined to kil the King of Camelot, but. . . did he really expect her to do this? After all, why would she do that when she had a perfectly happy life here? Aside from practicing magic.
Sasha saw a young man through the bushes, and as if she were hunting she crouched and peered through them to see him better. Black hair, pale skin. . . scrawny. She had seen him before. Oh yes! He was Prince Arthur's manservant. Sasha had never met him, but she had seen him many times. It looked like he was picking herbs of some kind. . . perhaps for Gaius? She wanted to meet him, but not as wolf. It would obviously get her in trouble. So therefore, she crept quietly away. Probably about half a mile, which wasn't as long as one would think, bit onto a tiny tree to help to following pain, and transformed. It was not as painful as she had expected it to be. Huh! She must be getting used to it. And she was liking how she still ended up with her dress on after shape-shifting.
After transforming into a human again, the real Lady Sasha Tiberius headed back to where she'd been before. Where she had seen Arthur's servant. She saw that he was further along in the forest, and so she followed him without a sound. The ways of the wolf had been instilled on her from the times when she had not been able to turn back to a human, so therefore her new ways were still there. . . one of them being stalking.

I know the secrets of the land and the sky, And you'll hear my voice in the eagle's cry. Looking at the forest floor as he walked, Merlin wished that Gaius had decided to collect the herbs instead of sending him out for them. Then he wouldn't need to remember what the herb looked like, what part to collect and how many Gaius wanted of each type. But that was the way of things. Gaius was the pysician and his carerer while Merlin was just a servant, even if he was one to the prince.
After a few more paces, he found another herb that he thought Gaius might want. He examined it, but wasn't exactly sure. After a while, he guessed that he would come back and if he hadn't found any of the herbs he thought this was, he would come back and collect it. Getting to his feet, Merlin continued, unaware of anything else as he walked. In fact, he was already worrying about what Arthur would order him to do when he got back. Hopefully Gaius had checked with Arthur first if he could 'borrow' Merlin so he could collect herbs. Otherwise Merlin would have to tell Arthur.
As he reached a gap for the forest, Merlin sat down and looked back at Camelot, he remembered when he had turned some smoke into the shape of a horse and someone had seen it. That had brought so much trouble and a witchfinder. Gaius had almost died becuase of him. And Gaius hadn't been happy in the first place with Merlin using his magic for fun. Looking around, Merlin saw none of the herbs that Gaius wanted. Just then, he remembered that one of the things Gaius wanted grew around fallen trees and logs. Getting up, Merlin looked under the log that he had just been sitting on.

Gaius sat in his study while Merlin was out fetching herbs. Rosemary, Thyme, Nettle, Juniper berries and Dock leaves was what he had asked for. Of course, being Merlin, Gaius knew it would take him longer, but not this long, where was he? Young people these days, thought Gaius, Where is that Merlin?
He returned to a poltice he had been making earlier, and added some mixture to it. Carefully examining it, he stirred it together and sniffed it. Perfect, the perfect remedy for tiredness. Every breath he took of the sweet smelling remedy, he felt revitalized. Almost absorbed in the lemony honey smell, he knew it was missing something. Those herbs. Gaius looked at the door and waited for what was about a minute or two. Then the door flung open. "Where in the world have you been Merlin?" asked Gaius, annoyed.

I know the secrets of the land and the sky, And you'll hear my voice in the eagle's cry. Rushing back into the physician's room, Merlin hoped that he hadn't spent too long away. He had gotten side tracked easily and without meaning to. Plus it had been hard enough finding the correct herbs. Nettle had been easy enough to recognise, but he couldn't remember what part Gaius wanted, so he'd just brought the whole plant. Juniper okay, but dock was easy to confuse with other plants.
"I've been collecting herbs, as you told me to!" Merlin replied as he came into the room and heard Gaius' question. Placing the herbs down on the bench, he walked off, in search of something to eat. He hadn't eaten anything but a small breakfast this morning and it was well past midday.

"Thank you." he said, as he picked up the herbs, looking at them, "But I only needed the nettle leaf, not the whole plant." He cut off the parts of the nettle he didn't need and added everything to the remedy. It smelt so nice he could just smell it forever. But he wouldn't. He wasn't very tired after all.

Merlin's eyes flickered to Gaius as the physician choped up the herbs. "Well, I'm no physician and i couldn't remember everything you said. Do you have anything to eat? I'm ravenous, I haven't had anything to eat since breakfast. And I've been treking through the woods!" the young warlock said as he pocked around in some more cupboards looking for something edible.

Gaius watched Merlin look at the shelves in search of something edible. Gaius looked around and saw something that caught his attention, "Here," he said, handing it to Merlin. "What's that?" asked Merlin. "Lunch."

Merlin looked suspicously at the thing that Gaius had given him. "What's that?" he asked, examining it from several different angles. But he was very hungry. "Your not trying some sort of test on me, are you?" he checkled, moving the object around in his hands. It would be edible, Merlin knew Gaius wouldn't do anything dangerous, but it might not taste nice. But he was very hungry. The young warlock ate it.

Gaius couldn't help but laugh quietly so as Merlin could not hear. Merlin looked at him suspiciously, "You haven't just given me something disgusting have you?" He said, as he thought about the 'thing' that he had just ate. "Of course not," replied Gaius, "But...you don't want to know what that was."

Merlin looked over at Gaius, his face serious. "What did I just eat?" he asked, his voice curious. It couldn't be too bad, could it? But Gaius had laughed, which meant that it probably was something that he didn't want to know about. Hopefully it wasn't rat or nettle. But Gaius knew a hole load more of disgusting things.

Gaius looked at him, a familiar look in his eye, "Um, it seems like... a bug. A stinkbug."

"YUCK!" Merlin complained. "That is really gross! Why did you give me that? Is there anything more edible?" he asked, looking at Gaius. Sighing, he thought about the next job he might have to do. Which probably wouldn't be as good as collecting herbs.

"No I'm afraid. And Merlin, Arthur wants you to clean out the stables again." He knew what Merlin would say. Another sigh he guessed.

Merlin looked at Gaius. "Seriously? When will I ever get a break!" he complained, slowly lifting himself back up. "I bet there won't be any time between all these jobs I have to complate."
