Guinevere wiped away a bead of sweat from her brow. Her back was aching and her legs where threatening to collapse at any second. She moved the broom side to side in an almost robotic motion as she swept the stone floor's of the castle. Her worn, old shoes did not protect her feet from the hardness of the stone floor below. Her rough calloused hands where grinding painfully against the wooden broom. Gwen had been working all day since, even though she was no longer Morgana's maid, she was still a servant at this castle. She had been running errands, cleaning, cooking, bascially doing anything that needed to be done. The footsteps of strangers echoed through the hall. She stopped to listen as their voice's travelled down the corridor and into her ear. The spoke mindless dribble, nothing of interest to her, so she went back to work. Unfortunetly, her bones ached to much and her eyelids felt heavy, so she had to stop. She now regretted the night before, which she had spent embrodding dresses. She now wished she had just fallen asleep. She leant the broom against the wall then leant next to it. She took long deep breaths as she took a moment to herself. "I'm just resting my eyes." Gwen mumbled un-convincingly to herself as she closed her eyes. She fell asleep hoping that no one would catch her.

Even through echoes of footsteps and talking that she couldn't really make out, Sasha felt like she was the only person on the face of the earth. She was daydreamig, but it wasn't in a good way. It was a reflect on her childhood; how traumatizing that had been... Then, almost depressedly, she strode past the room that Guinevere, the servant, was 'sweeping' in, and quickly turned around hoping that this encounter would take her mind off her past for a while. "Hey," she smiled friendlily, her voice shaking as she returned to reality. "Y-you awake?"

Gwen was woken from her slumber by the friendly voice of Sasha Tiberius. Gwen didn't know a lot about Sasha, all she knew was that she was a noble who had arrived at Camelot recently and suddenly. Gwen's mind was still groggy but once the fog of sleep had lifted she fully realised the situation she was in. "Oh, dear!" exclaimed Gwen as she realised that she had been caught sleeping on the job. "I'm so sorry, my lady! I wasn't sleeping, I mean I was, but, I was just... Resting my eyes, I mean, I thought... oh sorry!" rambled Gwen the way she does when she is worried. She wrung her hands nervously as she looked down onto the floor, trying to avoid making eye contact with the lady before her.

Sasha couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the respect she was receiving from everyone especially the servants. One moment she was laughed at for being an outsider, and the next... she was a noble in Camelot being treated like a goddess? It was bittersweet to her. "Hey, hey, it's alright," Sasha continued to give the servant a friendly smile. "Just, umm... try to avoid doing it again." Well, she had to say something that accorded to the rules of Camelot, right? "So, what's your name? I don't think we've met, have we?"

Gwen was quite suprised at the kindness that Sasha was showing a simple servant such as herself. Sasha seemed equally suprised at the required respect that Gwen was showing towards her. "So what's your name? I don't think we've met before, have we?" Sasha asked with un-required kindness. "My name is Guinevere, my lady, but everybody calls me Gwen." replied Gwen, her mind flicking to the one person who calls her by her full name. "And it won't happen again my lady, I swear!" cried Gwen before she grabbed her broom and began sweeping the floor again.

Sasha let out a very slight chuckle of amusement. "Pleasure to meet you, Gwen," she dipped her head. After a few seconds, she found her mind flicking back to her past... in the older Camelot... when she was seven. Sasha shook her head and tried to change the subject. "Have you lived in Camelot long?" She asked.

"Since I was a young child, my lady". replied Gwen. Flash backs ran through her mind from when she was 9 and had first started work here as the Lady Morgana's maid. Morgana had treated Gwen more like a friend than a servant, so they had grown very close. "My Lady..." Gwen started cautiously "Would you mind keeping the whole sleeping thing between you and me?" Gwen furiously blushed as she remembered being caught asleep.

"You're secret is safe with me," Sasha replied with a half grin and half smile. In fact, I'm keeping a secret myself, but I won't trouble you with it... "I hate to keep you from your job, I'm sure you must be busy," she hesitated to begin the question, even though she promised herself to act natural. "But, umm... do you happen to remember the criminal records back then? I-it's nothing, just curious."

Gwen's head shot up curiously, and her browns curls flew around, when Sasha asked the perculiar question about the criminal records. "Um, no my lady, I do not. I'm sorry I'm not of much help." replied Gwen, but then a sudden thought hit her. "They keep the records in the throne though, if that helps..." Gwen said, hoping that she has pleased the lady Sasha.

"Oh," Sasha considered this. "That helps. I'll ask the King sometime if I could take a look through them, they always interest me." Sasha suddenly thought of something and inquired genuinely, "Why do people show extra respect for the King? Like, did he do something?"

Gwen looked to the ground akwardly. She reached up and tried to put her hair, which was now hanging down, back into the bun she had had it in this morning. "Well, he is..." Gwen started, not sure how to put the situation into words. "The king... Well he feels... very strongly, about magic. He has no reason when it comes it comes to sorcery and he prosacuting those how practise it, and most of the time the accusations are based on wild hunches... He is beond reason!" Gwen's mind floated back to her father, and how the King had killed him just for taking a job from a sorcerer. She took a deep breath to calm herself, she got very emotional on the subject of her father's death. Then she swiftly took back her last sentence as she remembered her place as a servant, and that she was talking to nobility. "Not that I would know of course, I mean, I'm just a servant... and he's the king!"

Sasha nodded slowly, and noticed that Gwen was taking a deep breath about something. She thought for a moment that she shouldn't have asked, for Sasha never wanted to make anyone emotional. The best she could do was change the subject... "I believe you have the right to your opinion," she dipped her head. "After all, you're a human being too. And guess now is the time to say that I'm not prideful to be what I am, nobility. You can tell me anything you want." Sasha told Gwen softly. She wasn't that good when meeting new people and keeping up conversation, but she was doing her best... and she had to admit she was enjoying it.

Gwen lifted her head and smiled at Sasha. Gwen was known to blurt out what she was thinking (especially infront of people she shouldn't) so it was nice to know that she would not get in trouble for her bad habit in front of Sasha. "Are you enjoying Camelot, My Lady?" Gwen asked with geniune interest. This lady had been unusually kind to her, and Gwen had already grown a liking for her. She just hoped nothing would happen to change that, because Gwen needed a friend after what had happened with Morgana (Not to mention the situation with Arthur, not that she'd ever metion that though), and although she had Merlin, a lady friend would be much more understanding than Merlin.

"Very much actually," Sasha answered brightly, her green eyes flashing with enthusiasm. "To be honest, I have to say it's the best home I've ever had the pleasure to live in." She meant it, for she had lived in some nasty places.

Gwen's face brightend at hearing Sasha's comment. "If you will excuse me my lady, I must be off. It was nice meeting you though." Gwen smiled warmly, curtised, then picked up her broom and walked off. Gwen's smile widened when she realised that she had made a new friend, and she hoped that she would see Sasha again soon.
