Arthur Pendragon, for a rare moment in his life, had nothing to do. There was nothing to kill, no damsels to save, no dragons to slay or quests to complete. he had spent four hours in the grounds training with his knights this morning, he had spoken to his father about the peace treaties that were soon to be held and right now he had merlin scrubbing his armour so clean he would be able to see his face in the reflection. But yet, that still left him with time on his hands, and he barely knew how to spend it.
Instead, years, a lifetime in fact, of training took over and he went to do just that - train. Somewhere in the back of his mind was the deep seated belief that Arthur was not good enough - he was not suited to his birthright and he sought his fathers pride to prove himself wrong. Though this was a belief that he rarely acknowledged, it still existed, and it was this that drove him down to the cobbled streets of the castles courtyard, and the horse that waited for him.

Gwen's mind was over-loaded with things she had to do, and things that she did not, as she walked through the courtyard and towards the water pump, an empty bucket in her hand.
Gwen's worn, old shoes where little help against the rough, cobbled streets of the courtyard, and she could painfully feel every un-even stone in the road. She whinced slightly as she stepped on a large, sharp rock. But Gwen barely noticed, her mind was else-where. She did not know how she had gotten like this - how her life had gotten like this - but all the things that had happened recently where building up on her. The loss of Morgana and becoming Sasha's maid.
Gwen glanced up and saw walking through the courtyard the crowned prince Arthur. Gwen ducked her head shyly as she walked past him. This is silly! she thought to herself so she picked up the courage to talk. "My lord." mumbled Gwen with a slight curtsy as she walked past Arthur.

His mind was on the kids it seemed today, where ever he went he couldn’t help but think what the kids were doing or his mother he loved her and it was just an off day because so far he had bumped into many people and had to apologize about twice as much for even bothering someone to ask for somewhere. 'What was with everyone' he thought to himself he was trying to concentrate where he was going but it was no avail as he stopped seeing he was at the courtyard why?
Shaking his head he looked up at the sky ‘Please god why do you make my day like this’ his mind was racing, brilliant one place he wished he was he ends up here “Why you stupid idiot you only went to get vegetable for ma and I end up here” he sighed the kids came back in his mind he had an odd feeling coming on.

Arthur ran a hand across his horse neck, the stallion flicking it's ears in recognition of the prince. Though he, the royalty in general, had several horses, this was his favourite, the one most responsive to his touch, and the least likely to flinch away when he drove it towards a griffin or some other dreadful creature. His tail flicked away a fly as Arthur adjusted the bridal, and decided where he was going to ride to today, or if he would simply ride. he was deciding on the latter when he heard footsteps, followed by a voice he so loved to hear.
But in public, it was never right to reveal this, what he felt he hid a smile in the horses flank and turned to face the handmaiden and his love, the girl who had stolen his heart. "Gwen" he replied, a smile hidden in the singular word even if it was hidden on his face.
His eyes glanced around, taking in those people on the courtyard, the servants, and the man who stood looking into the sky. Puzzled, he turned back to Gwen. "Who is that?" making conversation, though he longed to take the water pails from her hands and carry them for her.

Gwen stopped, her hear fluttering, as she heard her name come from Arthurs lips. She walked towards him and his horse. He then asked "Who is that?" Gwen turned around to see who he was refearing to. She saw a man staring up to the sky. "I am not entirely sure, sire." Gwen said with formalities still in place, "I believe he is a noble." Gwen knew she was not being of much help, but she wasn't one to listen to kitchen gossip, so she knew nothing about the man, though she could tell by his clothing that he was a noble.

Passing his hand through his hair as he looked round again noticing a prince well he supposed the prince Arthur, he never knew he never listened to his family when they tell him off when he was younger “It’ll be a day when I get somewhere on time” he mumbled smiling he wasn’t sure why he felt a sudden nervousness ignoring it he wished sometimes this wouldn’t happen it was just typical.
‘Please for once can’t I just be elsewhere’ it was some odd thing, oh well he pondered walking round bumping into a random person knowing him a servant who looked like they wanted to kick him and apologized even if they didn’t hear him or did he wanted be polite he hadn’t the foggiest idea where to go from here “I’m lost, are you happy now hmm” he said to himself and at the sky but wasn’t going to say anything about it.

"I've never seen him before" he mused - and this was strange. Nobility in Camelot usually came to the castle to introduce themselves, if nothing else. Frowning slightly, Arthur's eyebrows knitted together as he patted his horses neck one last time.
Straightening, he walked past Gwen, his fingers gently brushing the back of her hand as he walked past - the gesture would seem like an accident, even if he meant to do it- and headed towards the lost looking noble.

Lost indeed he was not that he hadn’t been here when he was younger he certainly couldn’t remember it and scratched his head seeing that someone was walking towards him, giving a query look towards no one particular ‘well this is certainly new’ why had he come this way was going through his head the answer –he wasn’t so sure himself- not knowing himself he stopped himself falling over a stone he couldn’t see.
Still standing and not falling on his face –to which he was very thankful for, he couldn’t help but give a smirk inside his head about this predicament.

Tingles of pleasure ran all through Gwens body when Arthurs rough hands lightly grazed hers. For all she knew it was an accident but she liked to think he had done it on purpose. She held the hand close to herself and watched as he walked off towards the strange noble.
Gwen smiled to herself as she walked off, buckets in hand towards the water pump.
